Our History
Built on principles of family values and hard work, Serhal Builders is owned and operated by father-son duo Jamal and Abdul Serhal. As a lifelong handyman-turned-renovator, Jamal often worked with young Abdul at his side from the time he was around 12 years old, teaching him the ins and outs of the various trades. After experiencing business ownership in a variety of industries, Abdul found his way back to construction having gained a unique perspective when it comes to working with construction professionals as the client.

Abdul Serhal
CEO, Licensed General Contractor
With expertise earned from almost three decades in the construction industry, Abdul oversees all aspects of business operations, from contracts and project management to customer relations and services, ensuring quality assurance at every step.
Abdul demonstrates his unwavering commitment to delivering client satisfaction by helping to turn their visions into finished spaces that exceed expectations.
As a multifaceted entrepreneur, Abdul owns a non-profit clothing line that donates 100% of its profits to charity as well as a women’s shoe store of which his wife is CEO. His military background has provided him with the discipline and dedication to succeed at all of these endeavors.
A family man at heart, Abdul is happily married with one son and three daughters, along with two cats and a German Shepherd. Together, the Serhal family embodies strong values in faith, family unity, community support, promotion of local businesses, environmental and health consciousness, and a commitment to charitable giving. For fun, Abdul enjoys riding both a Harley Davidson and a superbike.
Jamal Serhal
Chief Experience Officer
Leveraging his rich 40-plus-year history in the construction industry, Jamal offers experience-based insights to help steer each project to successful completion, ensuring precision and adherence to code across trades. With a lifelong dream of being an architectural designer, Jamal has a passion for the design process and takes satisfaction and pride in maximizing the functionality and aesthetics of every space entrusted to Serhal Builders.
Jamal’s foray into craftsmanship happened at an early age, crafting shoes from scratch and creating custom wood frames for mirrors, photos, paintings, doors, and windows. Alongside his two brothers, he co-owned Serhal Interiors Inc., a manufacturing company that specialized in custom window coverings and draperies. The company’s prestigious clientele included the United States White House, Shaquille O’Neal’s residence, Shakira’s home, the Saudi Arabia Royal Palace, and various celebrity households.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jamal finds joy in culinary arts and automotive pursuits.
Omar Serhal

As the primary subcontractor trusted by Serhal Builders, Omar plays a crucial role in overseeing projects and ensuring on-site operations are carried out to the highest standards of quality.
For Omar, construction is more than a profession; it’s a passion. His favorite aspect of the job is the fact that he gets to work with his hands to help create unique spaces for homeowners as well as commercial clients. What makes Omar truly distinctive is his natural inclination towards designing and building, a trait that is demonstrated in the meticulous care he brings to every project.
Beyond the construction site, Omar indulges in his love for exotic cars, dedicating time to work on luxury vehicles such as Ferrari and Lamborghini.
Ashika Serhal
Client Communications & Business Support
In her multifaceted role, Ashika provides support and collaboration for Serhal’s various projects. Her involvement includes active participation in meetings with Serhal Builders’ clients, offering a personal touch that emphasizes the genuine nature of the family behind the business.
Ashika has dedicated nearly a decade to the construction industry, making her mark alongside her husband, Abdul. Her favorite aspect of the job involves conducting walkthroughs at the completion of each project, because it allows her to witness firsthand the complete transformation of each project space.
When asked to provide a unique facet of her personality, Ashika reveals a deep passion for exotic cars and sport bikes. Adding to her list of talents, she also takes pride in baking the “best chocolate cake in the world.”
As the devoted mother and wife of the Serhal family, Ashika serves as the CEO of Creche Kidz daycare, Shuttle 4 Kidz kids’ transportation services, and ASHIKA, the women’s and girls’ shoe store she co-owns with Abdul.
